10 commentsHi there, and welcome to the JoeEcho.com.
Im going to start by saying a few words about who I am, what I do, and hopefully where im going.
My name is Ciaran Gribbin, aka Joe Echo.
Im a singer/songwriter/performer based in Castledawson N. Ireland. I have just recently started out as a Solo artist after spending nearly 8 years with Belfast band Leya.
During my time with Leya we had a great time writing recording and gigging our music everywhere, and we released a great debut album "watch you don't take off", (Rubyworks records) which im very proud of. Leya played with many great bands like Snowpatrol, Franz Ferdinand, Scissor Sisters, Embrace, Damien Rice, Kubb, and Interpol to name a few.
Sadly the members of Leya went our separate musical ways, but the good news is that we are all great friends and I have no doubt we will all work together with music in the future.
I suppose I want to re invent myself in many ways. Im experimenting with different styles of music and I felt I wanted an Alter Ego…My Grandfathers name was Joe and I play a beat up 30 year EKO guitar….and so Joe Echo was born!
The plan now is for me now is to spread the word, record an album and get out there and gig as much as I can. Things are moving really fast now. Im happy to say that my manager Bob Young has been guiding me every step of the way. Bob has been my Manager and great friend now for four years, and he is every part of the Joe Echo set up as I am. I also want to mention and thank Jamie Neely at www.designbyfront.com for his brilliant creativity in designing this website/cd artwork. Also a word of thanks to Stuart Johnson at www.ifbydesign.com who has put this website together.
Im currently releasing my music on my own label L&K Records.
Im happy to say that the good people at Rubyworks records are taking care of my PR and record distribution.
Firstly, I am releasing my first single ‘Personal Alcatraz' as a free download for a limited time only. You can download it free from this site or my Myspace site.
Im also going to be out doing a lot of gigs working closely with my agent Paul Bolton at Helter Skelter. (Paul is also the agent for Faithless and the Kaiser Chiefs). So keep an eye on my gigs and I might see you in your area soon.
My other main focus is to get my debut Album recorded ASAP. I will be working closely with top producer Chris Potter www.chrispotter.info (the Verve, Rolling Stones, U2) and I would hope to have at least an EP out for the summer months. We already have the first two Potter produced tracks completed.
I am also delighted to say that I'm writing and working with Liam Shacher the Internationally renowned Israeli DJ. Liam has remixed two of my songs ‘On All My Sundays' and ‘The Waves'. The legendary DJ Paul Oakenfold has been spinning these tracks on his world tour for the past several months and both tunes are hitting the spot with the clubbers. So much so that Oakey's label Perfecto Records is releasing ‘On All My Sundays' very soon as the first digital release on their new imprint Ingrooves.
I think that's the lot for now! I will be posting regular Info on this site.
So thanks for visiting and please come back soon for more info on www.joeecho.com.
Cheers

Looking forward to hearing more! Saw Leya at the Civic when you were supporting Kubb and had to go out and buy the album. If you didn't pick up the Leya album you really should!
